The soothing power of music is long-standing, for example, there were kings who had what was then known as “melancholy” and through the effects of music they recovered or were at least able to soothe their anxieties.

The music of Mozart has healing powers; it reduces hypertension and calms anxiety, such as with compositions like Serenade No. 13 in G Major and Symphony No. 36 K425 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwxNp-LzDYo).

The secret is in the vibration of the sound that “floods” us, so to speak, permeating us to the extent that our nervous system, blood pressure, body temperature and all other rhythms of the body are affected. This was formerly known as “the music of the spheres” where it diminishes and withdraws into the microcosm of the human body, as well as in animals and plants.
