This book by Gregg Braden is the result of 22 years of scientific research, where the author explains why the year 2012 marks the end of a 5,125 year cycle. The changes that are made visible to mankind relate to the passing of Earth throughthe equator of the Milky Way, and in no way represents the “end of the world” as has been proclaimed.
Braden developshis work based on comments made in the eighties when the date 2012 was seen as “The end of the world” or “The end of the world as we know it”, while others believed it to be”The beginning of a thousand years of peace.”In fact, it is about understanding that we are coming to the end of a cycle oftime.
Science explains that men, their lives, and the planet they inhabit are all under the influence of the great cycles of time and the cycles within cycles; such as the 24-hour cycle for the day and night or the 28-day women’s cycle. Large cycles also exist that cover vast periods of time, which are impossible to remember from one civilization to another. Our “great cycle today” is a long 5,125-year cycle that is coming to an end.
Gregg Braden combines the different visions of the ancient and modern world in order to teach us a new model of time. By uniting the modern laws of fractal patterns with the ancient concept of cycles, the author shows how all the events created by life at different levels (social, political, personal) are patterns that return from our past and are following cycles already determined in time.
As each pattern returns, the cycle is repeated and copiesconditions that have already occurred. These are fractal patterns that can be known, measured andmore importantly, can be predicted.
