‘Psychology of the Future’ by Stanislav Grof
The central idea passes through transpersonal psychology and is based on Grof´s work
The central idea passes through transpersonal psychology and is based on Grof´s work. It is recommended for people with no knowledge of astrology and who want to learn the relationship between this doctrine and psychotherapy. It is also for those interested in the overall process of our world crisis. This is an easy to read book and is suitable for those with no previous knowledge of transpersonal psychology.
This book by Czech psychiatrist Stan Grof contains to some extent a compilation and reproduction of all his previous work and research.
Grof begins each chapter with a summary regarding each field he has devoted to as a researcher. Such as the New mapping of the mind in order to get closer to the experience of altered states of consciousness; its role and potential in psychotherapy (which is his main field); the ratio of a.s.c. (altered states of consciousness) with mysticism and spirituality, as well as that disclosed in relation to ancient Hindu cults and philosophies, especially in regards to his ‘vision’ or worldview as a creative process of the Cosmic Imagination.
